How it Works: NARF Adoption Process
If you find a dog or cat on our Web site that you would like more information about or would like to adopt, you should do one of the following:
- Contact the foster home directly.
- Call our main telephone number for help at (408) 224-6273.
- Visit us at this weekend’s pets fairs! Click here for locations and times.
The Adoption Process:
First, decide on the kind of dog or cat you want (large, small, active, older, puppy, kitten, long hair, short hair, etc.) and find a few pets that fit your criteria on our web site.
Then either contact the foster home directly or visit us at our weekly pet fairs.
Next a NARF representative will conduct an interview to make sure that the pet of your choice is a good match.
What is the cost of Adoption?
The donation for dogs ranges from $200 – $300, and $120 for cats. This donation covers the cost of spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping. In some cases, a training contract may be required for our dogs with an additional deposit.
What if I have problem with a dog/cat that I adopted from NARF?
If you are having a behavior problem, health concern, or just have a question, please call the foster home that your dog/cat came from. His or her name and number is on the contract. Our foster homes are the most experienced you will find in the Bay Area. So, make sure you let them know when you have a question!
